Lilium has confirmed its delivery schedule for first customer deliveries in 2026. This confirmation follows a recent program review, which assessed the testing and validation requirements needed prior to the first manned flight, now scheduled for early 2025. Additionally, Lilium evaluated the readiness of its support organization and training devices for its customers.

Production and Development Updates

Lilium is currently constructing its first two aircraft at its production facility in Gauting, south of Munich, Germany. The company has been collaborating with FlightSafety International on an engineering simulator, set for delivery early next year. This simulator will support the type certification program.

The Lilium Jet MSN 2, set to perform its first manned flight in early 2025, is being assembled with its fuselage, landing gear, wing, canard, and electric harnesses. The change in schedule, influenced by the delivery of flight-testing equipment, component parts, and software, is attributed to the ongoing industry-wide supply chain constraints. Despite this shift, there is no material impact on customer deliveries, program planning, or total program costs. Assembly of MSN 3 will commence later this year, and the aircraft will join the certification flight test campaign in 2025.

Certification and Training Advancements

Lilium, in partnership with FlightSafety International, will soon present a flight crew training simulator to EASA and FOCA (the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, which supports EASA in the training program certification). This step is crucial for the final development of the training devices.

Building Support and Services

Beyond its certification efforts, Lilium is enhancing its support and services organization, Lilium POWER-ON, to ensure a seamless entry into service for its customers. Having partnered with AJW Group for material services, Dedienne for Ground Support Equipment, and StarCharge for charging stations, Lilium POWER-ON is now focusing on digital solutions.

Klaus Roewe, CEO of Lilium, stated, “Lilium continues to make significant progress towards the entry into service of its Lilium Jet, not only on certification but also on training devices and support and services for our customers. Our latest program review confirmed our plan for 2026 first deliveries despite the new timeline for the first flight, with no material impact on customer deliveries. With EASA, we continue to work on achieving the highest safety level for our product and ramping up production of our test aircraft. We also aim to announce the 2026 launch location of the Lilium Jet with one of our customers by year-end.”

Lilium remains on track with its ambitious plans, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of supply chain challenges. The company’s commitment to safety, innovation, and customer service positions it well for the successful entry of its Lilium Jet into the market in 2026.
